March 21st - Spring Equinox Feast and Blessing
Share
Spring Equinox - it is a time of movement, of balance. That tipping point at the top of a roller coaster where you pause for one exhilarating breath before the headlong rush into summer, growth, and harvest. The time when we exist equally in the day and the night.
It feels very much like we are at a tipping point in our world. Which way we tip, which values and actions gain steam as we move into this summer, is still very much up to us. Heed the call, tend the land. Especially for us here in Taos, where the snow pack is low and the warm, windy days have already started.
Whether you call this time Ostara, Alban Eilir, or just spring time, join us to celebrate the rising energy in the world.
We'll feast (potluck style, bring something to share if you can) and do a seasonal blessing.
And to honor the plants who are beginning to stir, we are hosting a seed swap! Bring any extra seeds you might have lying around and pick up exciting, new to you varieties to try in your own garden.
Seed Swap Details
What to bring with you
Any extra seeds you have lying around. Could be old or extra commercial seeds, could be ones you cultivated and saved. Please make sure that all seeds are labeled at least with variety name/description and approximate date they were collected/packaged.
You can also bring envelopes or bags to take seeds away with you. We will have some small paper bags to offer.
What to expect
We'll have a table set up for the seed swap. When you arrive, you'll add your contributions to the table(sorted into general categories), then peruse what everyone else has brought. Collect what you think you'll grow this season, label your packets so you remember what they are, and take them home for growing!
