The Egyptians saw the Egyptian scarab (Scarabaeus sacer) as a symbol of renewal and rebirth. The beetle was associated closely with the sun god, Khepri, who rolled the sun across the sky like scarabs form and roll balls of dung. Each bringing life to the world in their own way.
