This is a genuine Mercury dime, minted in the United States between 1916 and 1945 and composed of 90% silver. Named for its resemblance to the Roman god Mercury, the winged Liberty design symbolizes freedom of thought, movement, and communication.

In folk magic/k and ritual use, Mercury dimes are prized as protective amulets, often worn near the throat to guard the voice, enhance communication, or attract luck in business and travel. Traditionally, they’ve been used in mojo bags, carried for protection, or crafted into pendants for spiritual work and everyday strength.
